Typical Scenario
Auditor ABC has started the audit process of ‘Apple Pie Co’. Their audit needs to be signed off within 3 months of their year-end in accordance with a bank loan agreement.
Upon starting the audit of Apple Pie Co, Auditor ABC discovered that the Finance Manager resigned recently and left the company with inaccurate & incomplete financial records.
Auditor ABC cannot assist in reconciling accounts and recording several adjusting journal entries due to the independence requirements between an auditor and a client whereby an auditor cannot audit their own work.
Apple Pie Co is in need of some external assistance. NG CPA steps in and is able to complete a comprehensive analysis of Apple Pie Co’s financial records.
